Round 4, Shronaboy Farm venue information

Jul 26, 2019 | 2019 Series, News, Round 4

Everything you need to know about Round 4 of the Mondraker Grassroots Enduro Series supported by Biking Dirty which will be held at Shronaboy Farm in Killarney, Co.Kerry on September 1st!

This is a brand new venue for 2019 and it will be a stand out round due to its open mountain wilderness.

The Killarney boys have been busy over the last few months building tracks and hosting a taster event in the Munster Gravity Champs which was held in July.

The pedal up will take riders roughly 15 to 20 minutes to the start of the first two stages.

Stages 1 & 2 will be between 1.2km – 1.4km in length, covering varying terrains. Fast and fun, these stages will cater for all levels

Stage 3 is our special stage. This is where the race can be won or lost. Expect something fun but challenging.  Again stage 3 will cater for all rider ability levels.

We aim to create a relaxed environment on the day, a pedal about with friends on enjoyable trails that challenge all levels.

New Timing System!

Yes, that’s right we will be shying away from the swipe-to-start-and-finish timing system used by the series in previous rounds.

Riders will still have to wear a transponder on their wrists, but you will be able to ride straight through the start and finish without having to tag out manually. Racers will roll over a mat at the start and again at the finish starting and stopping the clock respectively. You will still be able to repeat the stages as many times as you want, with your best time counting towards your race result. This timing system has been used by the Killarney Cycling Club numerous times for MTB and CX events. The Munster Champs being the most recent occasion that we worked with Elite Timing!

Killarney is a tourist destination, so there are plenty of hotels and bed & breakfasts available if you wish to spend the night. there is a campsite just down the road from the race venue.

Registration for round 4 will open in just over two weeks time at 9 pm on the 11th of August. We’re expecting entries to sell quickly, so make sure you get in early if you don’t want to be disappointed.

Hope to see you all in September!
